Sunflower - Chocolate Cherry
Chocolate Cherry Sunflower Seeds. 80-100 days. Non GMO. Open Pollinated. Annual. Heirloom. Helianthus annuus. Heirloom Chocolate Cherry sunflower seeds mature to be 6 to 7 feet tall ornamentals with deep burgundy petals and an even darker center, very similar in appearance to Velvet Queen. Non GMO Chocolate Cherry sunflower seeds are best when sown directly after final frost. Sunflower has a weed-like wildflower hardiness and can be broadcasted Plant 2-3 seeds .5 inch deep per pot or 3 inches apart in the garden in warm, loamy, well-drained soil. Heirloom Chocolate Cherry sunflower seeds germinate in 4-10 days. Thin back to one plant per pot or 6-12 inches apart in the garden once true leaves establish. Sunflowers in excess of 72 inches tall and benefit from staking during the end of season and during inclement weather.

- Sow Indoors or Outdoors: Chocolate Cherry sunflowers grow so vigorously that there is little reason to start seeds indoors. Sow directly after final frost in a sunny spot at the north end of the garden and shelter from strong winds. Velvet Queen sunflowers may need staking if plants are grown isolated and away from the support of a garden. Seeds will take 7 " 14 days for germination.

- Diseases/Pests/Troubleshooting: Always plant tall sunflowers at the north end of a garden because it will not take long for it to overshadow a poorly planned garden. Adjust staking and wind protection as Velvet Queen sunflower matures. Monitor regularly for foliage-eating beetles and caterpillars.

How do packages ship?
- It depends on what you're ordering. Each supplier has a contract with the carrier of their choice, so it could be USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.
How long will it take to receive my order?

We do ask that you allow up to 2 to 5 business days total for your order to be shipped and delivered, just in case there are any unexpected delays.
